Traffic Alert for Immediate Release Friday, July 28, 2006 East Capitol Bridge Rail Work, Lane Closures Contact (Media Only): Erik Linden (202) 671-2004; Karyn LeBlanc (202) 671-3490 (Washington, DC) The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will close one lane on the East Capitol Bridge over the Anacostia River beginning Monday, July 31, in order to facilitate railing installation and repainting of the rails on either side of the bridge. The work is scheduled to take approximately one week, weather permitting. The inbound lane will be closed from 9:30 am to 4 pm beginning July 31. Once work is completed crews will switch to the outbound lane. The outbound lane will then be closed during the work hours 7 pm to 7 am.
