Traffic Alert for Immediate Release July 18, 2003 Traffic Pattern Under Thomas Circle to Change On Saturday, July 19th, the construction traffic pattern from 13th Street to 15th Street NW under Thomas Circle will change, the District Department of Transportation announced today. The eastbound tunnel will be open to two-way traffic--one lane eastbound and one lane westbound; the westbound lanes will be closed for construction until the project is completed in September. Eastbound traffic will no longer be detoured at Scott Circle. Variable message signs have been deployed to alert motorists to the new pattern.
