Noise Barrier Constructability Study
Introduction
In response to community requests and concerns, the District Department of Transportation (DDOT) is conducting a constructability review of potential noise barriers along the Southeast-Southwest Freeway (Route I-695). The study area will include barrier locations identified in the 2000 Feasibility Study along both sides of the Southeast-Southwest Freeway, roughly from 7th Street SW to Pennsylvania Avenue SE. The consultant will also examine the impact of the noise barriers on sensitive land uses on either side of the freeway.
Definition of Work
The consultant will prepare a report that confirms or modifies the preferred locations and characteristics (materials, height, weight) of noise barriers along the Southeast Freeway, as identified in the 2000 Feasibility Study, and will identify the engineering/construction requirements to build such noise barriers. The report shall also examine the cost estimates of constructing the recommended noise barriers in the 2000 Feasibility Study and conduct an independent analysis of these costs.
Project Deliverables
