Ward 2 on Tap Tonight for Mayor Grays Final Ward Town Hall Budget Meeting

(WASHINGTON, DC) – At a town hall meeting in Ward 2 at 7 p.m. this evening (Monday, May 9), Mayor Vincent C. Gray will wrap up a series of community meetings he has held in every ward to brief residents and get feedback about his proposed Fiscal Year 2012 Budget and Financial Plan. Ward 2 Councilmember Jack Evans and several Advisory Neighborhood Commissioners and civic associations will co-host the meeting at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, located at 1315 8th Street NW. Staff from various District government agencies will be on hand to provide information about city services. Translation and interpretation services will be available. Department of Transportation traffic control officers will be on patrol to direct motorists to parking.

More than 2,000 people have attended the budget briefings across the city since Mayor Gray launched the series on April 25 in Ward 8. Residents can still provide feedback at budgetquestions@dc.gov and find valuable information at www.budget.dc.gov. The Mayor will host a special youth town hall on Saturday, May 21, at 10 a.m. in the Mayor's Press Briefing Room (G-9) of the John A. Wilson Building. The Office of Cable Television is airing taped broadcasts of all town halls on Comcast Cable Channel 16 and on www.oct.dc.gov.
