WHAT/WHO: Mayor Vincent C. Gray; Fire and Emergency Medical Services Chief Kenneth Ellerbe, DC One Fund Chairman; Office of Contracting and Procurement Director James Staton, DC One Fund Vice-Chair; DC One Fund Executive Committee; and agency coordinators will rally all city government employees to participate in annual charitable giving campaign.

BACKGROUND: The District of Columbia government is joining forces with the United Way of the National Capital Area and the United Black Fund to provide worthy charities and causes with much-needed contributions in the annual DC One Fund campaign. Employees can begin making donations to this year’s campaign on Monday, October 3, and are encouraged to participate in the kickoff event on Tuesday, October 4. The goal is to raise $1 million dollars. Employees can give through bi-weekly payroll deductions or make a one-time donation. Information is available at www.onefund.dc.gov or www.dconefund.org.
