Arguelles, Chairperson, DC Commission on Aging; and Emma P. Ward, Ms. Senior DC 2011, to present remarks regarding healthy, fun, safe and fit activities available to District residents this summer.

BACKGROUND: The 2011 Senior Fun Fest will attract more than 1,500 seniors from citywide recreation centers and Office on Aging sites. The event provides seniors with an opportunity to enjoy an outdoor event with lunch, entertainment, health screenings, music, board games and senior information exhibitors.

This is another component of the “One City Summer Fun … Something for Everyone” rollout. One City Summer Fun is a wide-ranging and expanded citywide partnership among District government agencies, community and faith-based organizations and private-sector groups.
