WHAT: Milestone event to mark the substantial completion of the H Street Great Streets Project. The majority of the heavy construction for this project has passed and the parking lanes have been restored, the sidewalks and roadway has been reconstructed, the new streetlights are in and the tracks and station platforms for the future streetcar are now in place.

About the H Street Great Streets Project
The H Street Project is part of the multi-agency Great Streets Initiative that strategically targets major corridors in the city with infrastructure improvements that are aimed at fostering more livable communities, promoting economic development and improving mobility for residents. The project limits include H Street NE between 3rd Street and the Starburst Intersection. Construction on this project started in September 2008 and is slated to be entirely completed later this year.
