The District Department of Transportation is in charge of many parking services in the District of Columbia.

Bikestation at Union Station

Bicycle Parking

DDOT has a very progressive Bicycle Program with some of the most innovative initiatives in the nation, including the first self-service bike parking program and the Bikestation at Union Station.

Park and Charge Pilot

The Park and Charge Pilot was launched in November 2010 to provide electric vehicle users the ability to charge up at public curbside parking spaces.

Parking enforcement is handled by the Department of Public Works. Adjudication of parking violations is handled by the Department of Motor Vehicles.

The District Department of Transportation manages approximately 17,000 metered parking spaces across the District of Columbia.

Pay by Phone allows residents, workers and visitors to use their mobile phones to pay for parking at all of the approximately 17,000 on-street metered spaces throughout the District of Columbia.

DDOT is responsible for installations and maintenance of Parking Meters throughout the District of Columbia.

 
Residential Parking

Residential Permit Parking

The RPP program limits on-street parking to participating residents living on designated blocks. Parking for everyone else is limited to two hours.
