Disability ParkingThe District has several programs intended to ensure on-street parking is accessible to residents and visitors with disabilities.
Park and Charge Pilot ProgramThe Park and Charge Pilot was launched in November 2010 to provide electric vehicle users the ability to charge up at public curbside parking spaces.
Pay by PhonePay by Phone allows residents, workers and visitors to use their mobile phones to pay for parking at all of the approximately 17,000 on-street metered spaces throughout the District of Columbia.
Performance Based Parking PilotsDDOT is using a method called performance-based parking to manage the on-street parking resources in pilot areas of the District.
Reserve Parking for a FuneralA permit is needed to reserve parking for a funeral. Any use of the public right-of-way (defined as the space outside the private property line) requires permission from the District Department of Transportation.
Residential Permit ParkingThe RPP program limits on-street parking to participating residents living on designated blocks. Parking for everyone else is limited to two hours.
Visitor Parking PassesDDOT has launched 3 Visitor Parking Pass pilot programs to eliminate the inconvenience to residents of having to obtain a new pass everytime a visitor is expected. |
