New York Avenue Bridge Rehabilitation

DDOT’s New York Avenue Bridge Rehabilitation Project is funded by the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act (ARRA). Construction will continue through 2013. The long term benefits to be gained from the rehabilitation of the bridge will ease congestion and improve safety. The existing bridge will be enhanced by adding new steel plate girders, replacement of the existing concrete deck, strengthening of existing bridge piers and abutments, and overall improvements to the approach roadways, pedestrian sidewalks, and roadway lighting features.
