(Washington, DC) The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) is scheduled to close the Chain Bridge this weekend for structure repair work. The closure is necessary to safely complete the replacement of critical bridge supports, work that cannot be delayed.

The bridge is scheduled to be closed from 8 pm on Friday, October 29 until 5 am on Monday, November 1. However, DDOT is working with the contractor to try and accelerate the work and potentially reopen the bridge early Sunday morning, before the running of the Marine Corps Marathon. The marathon will impact traffic on the Key and Memorial Bridges.
